Model Rocketry Class

Launching this spring: a two-hour Intro to Model Rocketry Class for those ages 10 and older.
During class you'll get a brief rocket history lesson along with an intro to NASA, space exploration, building rockets, and model rockets.

Then with guidance from the instructor, you'll start building your own model rocket.

Once rockets are completed, we'll be heading outside to launch your rocket where it will reach about a 200' altitude. Want to do an additional launch? We can do that too. Take your model rocket home with you when class is over.

$25/person for members and guests staying on the property and $30/person for the public
Fee includes model rocket and all supplies needed for class
$5 fee for each additional launch.
Payment must be made at the time of reservation.

Classes are at 2 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Space is limited, registration and payment are required by 7 p.m. the day prior to class. Contact the Recreation Department to register at 540-972-7433 ext. 8
